Grain Storage and Handling

Flat bottom grain storage systems

These Silos are precisely designed according to the world class standards & specifications for long term storage of varied grains and cereals and other materials such as coffee beans, cotton, etc. while maintaining their unhindered quality. We offer Grain storage systems which consists of Grain Storage Silos, Handling Equipment , Monitoring Systems, Aeration Systems , Automation Systems. These silos are specifically designed for excellent protection and are made available as per customer's specific requirements.

Distinguished Characteristics :

  • High tensile strength
  • Designed to stand up to snow loads & strong winds
  • Special sturdy cross sectional roof structure
  • Robust frame
  • Designed to adhere to seismic & soil conditions

Hopper bottom silos

Hopper Bottom Silos are generally built on fabricated steel structures with conical bottom made of steel plates and the corrugated sheets preformed are assembled with bolts and nuts on circular purlins and vertical stiffeners with water proof washers , cylindrically above the conical hopper with a slopped roof in the top. Ladders to clim b and get into the silos, handrails, manholes etc are provided. The grains will be discharged by gravity to the bucket elevator/belt conveyor for onward conveying. These silos can also be built on the top of concrete conical hopper with beams and columns built in situ. Aeration, ventilation, temperature monitoring system as required are all provided to the built hopper bottom silos. Normally these silos are recommended for storage upto 500 tones of grains like paddy having density of less than 550kg/m3.

  • Hopper Bottom Silos are multipurpose and are suitable for grain processing plants, animal feed plants, grain milling plants, and poultry houses.
  • Hopper Bottom Silos are manufactured in capacities from 20 Tons to 1000 Tons.
  • Dynamic Analysis of silo structural stability is carried out considering seismic zone and wind loads of respective areas where the silos will be installed.
  • Zincalume steels sheets are used in the manufacturing of the silos, which are able to withstand strength 350Mpa.
  • Standard angle for bottom hopper of a silo is 45 degrees. However, the bottom hoppers of angle 50, 55, 60 degrees may also be manufactured on request

Silo Dischargers

KMAL provides on-demand flow of even the toughest materials by eliminating bridging, rat-holes and build-up. Each powerful pulse of the nozzle directs a high-pressure / high-volume, 360-degree burst of compressed air between the material and vessel wall to lift and sweep stagnated material back into the flow stream. The nozzle design ensures an immediate, dust-tight, reseal after each pulse, preventing clogging or material feedback. Available in multiple sizes, featuring design, mounting and material construction options to suit virtually any vessel, process and material, including a Sanitary-Style to meet easy installation and removal requirements for cleaning.

Inclined Elevators

Combined horizontal and vertical conveying is the key function offered by this chain conveyor. Specially shaped chain flights across the entire cross-section of the trough allow for form-fit transport. In particular, the conveyance of sticky materials or transport between critical process steps during which the process itself cannot be interrupted (e.g. oil mills) are typical applications for the Incline Line. This chain conveyor is suitable for throughputs up to 480 t/h

Standard Elevators

For procedural reasons, the elevation of products is imperative in nearly all silo facilities and processing plants. Thanks to their low energy consumption, elevators supplied by KMAL are extremely economical in operation and are ideally suited for the vertical transport of bulk goods.

The Standard Line, with its comprehensive package of optional equipment, is capable of handling the majority of applications in silo and storage facilities. A split hood, inspection and cleaning ports on the boot and casings, and cleanout slides ensure easy cleaning and maintenance

Belt conveyers

Transporting large quantities of product over long distances presents a significant challenge to conveying systems. With belt conveyors from KMAL , such tasks can be handled reliably, gently and economically. The belt conveyor was specially developed for short distances and lower capacities. Completely pre-assembled segments and lightweight construction allow for a particularly cost-effective investment.
